With all my love for my clients, my followers and those who just happened to be here.
2016 has been pretty sweet. You know, I went skydiving for the first time. And then I took up the courage to #gojer and go hot air ballooning. And despite running the business and coaching my beautiful clients, I took the time to chill in Krabi for the first time. That was sweet.
2016 has been pretty bitter as well. I mean, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I saw the death, first-hand, of the father of somebody really close to me. I even knocked someone down while I was driving (he’s okay). How bitter is that.
If there’s one term I can use to describe my 2016 is this – Life and Death.
The beauty that is life where we experience new things, see new places and marvel on God’s amazing creations. But at the same time, the fact that death is always around us. It can happen anytime.
2016 made me realise that this world is not ours. It’s never ours. I know that but it was a thorough reminder for me over again this year.
And newsflash – life is short. Time waits for no man.
It’s amazing huh, over the last few years since I first started to lose weight, my life has changed 360 degrees. It’s been 7 years (can you believe it?!) since I decided to stop feeling worthless and start being awesome again. Seven years since I did my first some sort of exercise. I simply decided to not live my life mediocrely anymore. I wanted to change, and I did.
I have to also say, being passionate in what I was doing helps. I cannot imagine how it must feel like if I’m stuck in a job I intensely hate, having to go through all this.
Which makes me think, as a coach and a voice in the nutrition industry in Singapore. Here’s my message to you:
This is not about being all hipster and yolo anymore. This is about taking the time that you’ve been given now to make solid choices not for anyone else but for you. This is the time where the opinion of people does not matter anymore – your opinions matter most.
And if you’ve been contemplating over and over again – this is the time where you need to start to take care of yourself. Your health. Your fitness. What you eat and drink.
Way beyond your aesthetics or how you look.
Way beyond looking awesome in that LBD.
Way beyond following what that girl on IG is doing.
It’s for yourself. Your health. And your future.
I hate to say this but life is short and if you’re reading this, I’m urging you to do something for your health. You don’t need to start to lift heavy weights. Or run a marathon. You don’t have to eat salad all day long. Just small, simple changes that adds up.
And if you feel alone or overwhelmed by all this, talk to me. Leave me a comment below. Send me a personal email to firstname.lastname@example.org. I will reply even if you’re not my client.
I’m personally taking in clients starting 9th January on the first 12-week phase of a year-long program. Of course it’s not going to be free. There is a price to pay, about $6 a day, but I’ll be honest and I know my clients can vouch on this – the price you invest for your health is worth more than that Adidas Tubular shoes you’re eyeing.
